Betanorbit
privacy policy

Effective November 7, 2026

This policy describes the Android Betanorbit app and its public website. It explains the information used for pantry features, optional product lookup, website access and support.

Pantry records on your device

Batch names, brands, barcodes, quantities, storage locations, printed dates, shopping-list entries and movement history are saved in the app’s local storage. Betanorbit does not provide user accounts or account-based cloud synchronization. Opening the website does not upload these pantry records.

You can edit pantry batches, remove shopping-list items, and clear the app’s local data through Android settings. Clearing storage or uninstalling the app removes locally stored pantry information. Keep any information you need before doing so. The app disables Android cloud backup and excludes its records from its configured device-transfer rules.

Product searches and camera access

Saved product information and manual entry can be used offline. When you choose an online search, the product name or barcode is sent to Open Food Facts with the application’s identification header. The provider also receives ordinary connection information, such as your IP address. Product results may be cached on your device for later use.

Camera access is requested when you choose the scanner. Barcode recognition uses the bundled Google ML Kit library and processes camera images on your device. Betanorbit does not upload those camera images. ML Kit may collect technical device, application and performance information under Google’s own policies. You can decline camera access and enter the barcode or product name yourself.

Opening the website

The Website & Support section opens this website only when you choose it. Website requests include ordinary connection information, such as an IP address, browser identification, requested page and request time. Hosting infrastructure may process request and security logs to deliver and protect the site.

The pages supplied by Betanorbit contain no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, contact forms or tracking cookies. The app’s embedded website does not expose pantry records or camera access to page content. Following an email link opens your chosen email application.

Support messages

If you contact support, your email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to include are used to respond to your request. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information or sensitive details. Your email provider also processes the message under its own policies.

Retention and your choices

Local records remain until you change or remove them, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app. You can revoke camera permission in Android settings. For questions about support correspondence or website-related information, contact us using the address below. Records managed by external service providers are subject to those providers’ policies.
